Anya Hindmarch for Barbour

Even though I’m a New York City girl, I dream about spending weekends in the English countryside wearing Barbour and Wellies to shooting parties. I think I’ve spent too much time watching Gosford Park! But since I just heard that Anya Hindmarch is designing a capsule line of jackets for the venerable British label, I am hoping they will be chic enough to wear in the city. Or maybe I just need to find a country house upstate! The real English countryside might be a bit too rainy for me! I’ll definitely keep you posted when I finally see the jackets and make my decision!

UPDATE: I just picked up the February 2010 issue of Town & Country magazine that includes a great article about Anya Hindmarch and how she started her company. Definitely check it out!

Oh, and Anya’s apartment is just as chic as her bags!

Oh I just love her apartment and her! Look at all that lovely warm white. I’m with you on the Barbour and wellies. I’ll never outgrow my Jane-Austen-English-countryside fantasies. I know some boys that went to Eton (Harry’s class) and their Facebook photos are my all time favorite to look it. They’re always throwing elaborate costume parties at their grandparents manors—pure ridiculousness. If only I were British…

Kate – I think there are more photos in an old Domino but I can’t remember what issue. I love her bags so I know I will love the jackets! I just met someone who went to Eton! Wonder if they all know each other!

Heather, you’ve got the right idea, but throw a little Colin Firth into your English countryside and I’m so there!!!

Love the “Keep calm and carry on” framed! Very good advice. Very chic apartment.

I love that casual elegant look, with the piled books and the frames leaned against the wall. But it doesn’t seem to be something I can achieve. My place just looks messy when I try to do something like that!

On a slightly different note, does anyone recognise the armchair in these pictures? I am furiously searching for a chair like that and not having much luck. Maybe this is the answer to my interior prayers…

Who doesn’t have English countryside fantasies? This is excellent news! My boyfriend has a Barbour (which currently is in want of a good waxing) so all the more reason for me to get one.

I bought an aqua-colored “Keep Calm” poster from Annechovie during Christmas and have it looking right at me in my office. One of my New Year’s resolutions!

What a gorgeous and chic apartment, it is really lovely. I also really like her office, I wish mine was like that but these images have given me the incentive to get off my butt and sort the room out.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE
i’m normally not a huge fan of mostly white interiors but this seems really warm.

Agree with you Neo-Traditionalist that these whites are so warm and would actually make me glow to be amongst them. I can always go for that type of design.

And, as for the “keep calm and carry on” picture, I have seen a lot of it lately, especially through Etsy. I don’t know what/who the originator of this is. Would Hindmarch go Etsy?
