Dreaming in French

11 . 21 . 09A trip to the new Barnes & Noble on 86th Street is like journeying to the center of the universe since the main floor is about three escalator rides down but I had missed the deadline for same day delivery in Manhattan so I made the trek. They ended up not having what I wanted but I did find a lovely book called Dreaming in French by Megan McAndrew. It’s a coming of age story set in Paris and New York in the 1970’s and 80’s that is thoughtful and intelligent and hard to put down. The family dynamic aspects make it especially perfect to take along on your trip home for the holidays. Sometimes it take a tome about a family more messed up than your own to make you realize that maybe yours isn’t so bad after all! Happy reading!

Yes, so true, in fact there is usually someone or some dysfunctionality in all families!!
Just made the trek home to Texas from NYC for a week of quiet, however i ran across your post and will be headed to B & B for this book. xoxo
I’ll definitely pick that up! xo kitty
Please, Please, PLEASE show us some of your work!!
Ooh, I’m intrigued… Things like that make me miss New York so much, I’ll definitely have to check this latest addition to the Barnes brand out next time I go. The one by Union Square will always be the best one though, in my opinion:)
Forgot to mention in last comment….Thanks for the wonderful book suggestion, exactly what I need right now and would never have found this on my own. Have a great week.
this is the 2nd time I’ve heard this title recommended… must read 😉
