L.L. Bean Gets Chic!
by habituallychic
10 . 16 . 09Every interior designer I know owns at least one L.L. Bean Boat and Tote for carrying samples but I doubt too many of us own the clothing. All that looks like it’s about to change! Alex Carleton who was a design consultant for the company in Maine years ago left to start his own line, Rogues Gallery, but has rejoined L.L. Bean to oversee their new Signature collection for men and women. The clothing looks chic enough to be worn on the streets of New York as well as the outdoors of Maine! The classic Boat and Tote also got a makeover. Too bad the line doesn’t debut until March 2010! I could use a bag!

Oh lord, I have about ten of these and now I’ll have to buy the new ones. Such a classic, can’t wait to see how they reinvent it!

Very cute….xv
I have 3 llbean totes in the classic black & white and one in red & white hanging from the back of the bathroom door to hold TP (inspired by Grant Gibson). However, you are right, I own no llbean clothes-will keep my eyes open!
Big Bean fan here..love their quality. Don’t own a boat and tote bag (!) but their turtlenecks are awesome. 🙂

I’m looking into buy an LL Bean rolling laptop bag. I’m excited that they are styling a few more clothing items as well!
I could use a couple!!!
So funny…I received one of the LL Bean totes when I finished undergrad and had my frist job at the WTC in Dallas! But, haven’t shopped LLB since my last ski trip! So excited to flip through this catalogue now.
Will be looking too!
This will be interesting. I’ve been a long time LL Bean fan and even have the LL Bean Visa to get my free shipping & monogramming so I am very interested to see what they do. I heard also that LL Bean was bringing back the norwegian sweater but I do not see it yet in the catalog or online…
Hmmmm…
trying to find the brown one on the end. it is perfect.
I’ve got a couple Boat Totes and lots of their shoes! They are so comfortable!
I’m excited to see what the collection is like–my parents get the LLBean catalog so I’ll have to tell my mom to scour it for me come spring! I love that American style is so huge right now.
