Jardin du Luxembourg
by habituallychic
10 . 28 . 09The weather in New York today was rainy and left everyone in a funk so I thought it the perfect time to revisit summer and Paris! On the last day of our trip, Stefan left early so I was on my own until I had to head to the airport. After I saw the queue at the Musee d’Orsay, I decided to forgo seeing art and instead spend the 86 degree day out of doors. I couldn’t think of a better place than the Jardin du Luxembourg since it was the one park we didn’t tour together. It felt like an oasis and the potted palm trees just added to the exotic ambiance. I love Central Park but it can’t hold a candle to the beauty of the Paris parks with their elegant statues and fountains. Looking at these photos makes me wish I was back in that warm sunshine right now. Le sigh. Maybe next year. Enjoy!

aww! i missed all that!
When I studied in France one summer my host family’s flat was steps away from the Jardin du Luxumbourg! It is one of my favorite places in all of Paris—always so enchanting. My host parents also happened to be a Marqui and Marquess and the grandmother, the former editor of French Elle! Needless to say the grandmother’s apartment off the Champs-Elysees was pure divinity. Oh France, what’s not to love?

Ooh, I just love the Jardin du Luxembourg! The park has so many facets, and it just feels like a little slice of heaven. I could sit in one of those reclining chaises, by the little boat pond, with a good book and be happy the whole day. It’s always nice to be reminded of such a beautiful place … thank you for sharing!
Heather,
I love it! It is a beautiful park!

I know, so beautiful and so deep. Hope the weather in NY picks up a bit.
I spent a semester in Paris and LOVED it. The Luxembourg Gardens was the first thing I walked around- our hostel was right by there. So inspirational!
