Williams Sonoma at Home
by habituallychic
05 . 29 . 09I was leafing through the March 2008 issue of House Beautiful when I saw a photo of chairs on a stair landing that reminded me of the new Williams-Sonoma Home store in New York. When I looked closer, one of the names of the designers, David DeMattei, sounded familiar. Then I realized that he is the group president for Williams-Sonoma and I actually met him at the opening party last fall. The home has a Williams-Sonoma feeling but is not a literal translation of the store. I’m swamped with work so for more information, you can check out the details at House Beautiful online. Bon Weekend!

oh chocolate walls how I love thee
Fab post.
I saw it online & thought..no wonder I’m sooo addicted to their line. His taste is impeccable. I actually enjoy the sprinkling of sunny yellows. Yellow & I are not friends but here we’re buddies.
Still nutz about the the blue & whites though….
yum. i’m loving every last nook and cranny.
that kitchen is a dream!
Wow-that’s a whole lot of china-beautiful post!
Love all of these photos and the indications that depth of design is returning to current interiors. I know that we are going to lag a little in Los Angeles, but the warmth of these interiors will catch on soon. Thanks.
Have a great week-end!
I was absolutely in love with the house when I saw it in HB, but I have to disagree that it’s not a literal translation – it’s as close as you can get. Looking at the resources and general feel, 99% of all the major pieces came from WS (and, of course, it looks great).
I love those yellow pops of color in the kitchen! have a wonderful weekend!
What a great way to display the blue and white dishes (blue willow pattern?)
Such a lovely blog you have!
I absolutely love the photos of the kitchen and all of the beautiful dishes. Thank you!
I remember loving this … still do!
I remember that House Beautiful issue well. That makes sense because I thought it looked like WS Home as well.
Love it!
This is absolutely lovely
everything
I will make a link to your post from my blog today 🙂
HC- We are huge fans!
If you love this house you should also check out Dave and Patrick’s gorgeous place in Napa which was in House Beautiful’s May 2009 issue.
Keep up the great work!
Hi Heather-
Wonderful post on David and Patrick–who are indeed very talented and very devoted to design, and are very worldly and well-traveled partners.
Williams Sonoma Home is a superb catalog (head office is in San Francisco))–and it is worth noting that more than 20 per cent of clients are designers. Designers understand the quality–and that you can fast-order custom upholstery. Great to know.
Wow – seriously gorgeous home. And that kitchen?! Love all of the blue and white pieces – I am currently obsessed (as evidenced by my growing collection, shop and blog!).
lovely post-great blue and white pottery and additions of the sunny yellow!
I love the living room chandelier. do you know where i could get this? thanks!
Wow, wow and wow!!! So lovely!
* “SIMPLY STATED”, I could walk right into those pictures, STAY FOREVER and die a HAPPY WOMAN!!!!!
Tooo fabulously scrumptuous for words!
MANNNNY THANKS,
Linda in AZ*
Wow- classic but contemporary and dynamic..don’t want to seem too mystical or w/e, but life energy seems to flow comfortably above and around the curves, flourishes and arabesques…
I want to create rooms like these! I particularly love the stacked crockery. It’s so country chic!
delightful! i’ll have you know this post solved a few problems for me! I was having issues with a deep mantle and 2 blank walls on either side of the fireplace. since my color schemes are so similar to the posted photos, i was able to really get a feel for what simple book shelving might do for the problem area! yours are helpful posts for a writer with limited visualization skills!!! thanks!
Love the kitchen!
Loved the entire house. So what i’d love my style to evolve into. Check my blog and tell me if i’m anywhere close people! X
loving all the yellow!!
