J’adore this decor!

09 . 16 . 08 I’m going to have to have multiple homes to deal with my multiple decorating loves. Usually, I like clean rooms with a mix of modern and antique furnishings but for some reason I LOVE this romantic and ridiculously girly home in New Orleans decorated by Hal Williamson that is featured in the October 2008 issue of House Beautiful. (Decorno also posted it about.) I usually don’t even like pink but it’s so dreamy and I think the modern art and photography cut down on the cuteness. It does kind of remind me of Laduree and the Hotel Ritz a little bit. If you don’t subscribe to HB, definitely run to the newsstand to pick it up! You won’t be disappointed!

Oh, I like this too- I wouldn’t normally pick it out, but it feels very quintessential- as if life would be perfect in that room. 🙂
Office with a View – it feels like nothing bad could happen in a room that pretty!
I was drooling over this too, last night, on the HB website, and already have sourced the discontinued paint color that I had been envisioning for my bedroom! I was so inspired by this, that I want to paint, paint, paint!
I agree! it’s gorgeous!
I was just looking at this issue for the first time today….it really is jam packed with great interiors! Besides the beauty of this abode, I appreciated, too, that this particular homeowner made a concerted effort to support her local community in its continuing time of need…which kind of ties in with your cocooning post from yesterday.
love this room…will pick up HB tomorrow… Fay
For unknown reasons my HB has not yet arrived and I keep seeing more and more great images. I may be forced to go to the newsstand — just in case it never shows up!
Not only is the paint colour so pretty but the silk curtains are a dream.
This pic reminds me Marella Agnelli´ bedroom in Vogue Living: Houses, Gardens, People. And I love it.
Looks like icing on the cake to me! Yum!
Perhaps after all that “masculine bachelor pad work”- a girl needs a retreat like this one. A girly room.
Yes, it’s so romantic. Love the lighting in this.
I am entranced by this picture. Keep coming back to look at it. I am not a pink person by any means.
But imagine if you took everything off the top of the table but the crown and made the flowers rusty-orangey color to go with the tabletop. Add a contemporary lamp in metal and frosted glass and substitute a Mapplethorpe photo.
Voila! A girl with gusto lives here now.
I’m with you on the multiple homes thing with regard to decor. Love this girly thing going on in this photo as well!!
