One thing I will never give up in any economic downturn are my magazines! Even if you can’t afford to redecorate, you can at least still be inspired and take notes for a future project! I picked up the October 2008 issue of Domino last night at one of their events and it’s chock full of great ideas and pretty pictures. Sometimes it’s the little things that can bring the greatest pleasure! And all for under $5!

I agree, I would never give up my mags! It’s like the episode on SATC where Carrie says when she was young and poor she would skip a meal once a month to buy Vogue -she said it fed her more! so true!

I’m a junky, though I still haven’t even attempted to get through my HUGE fall fashion mags – Vogue must weigh about 10 pounds and it seems to overwhelming to even get started. My “to read then recycle” stack is HUGE right now! Oh I get so jealous when there is a new Domino issue out and I have yet to receive mine!

Amen! I am such a magazine whore. It’s like getting candy in the mail every month! Newstands in New York are my favorite places… I could stand there for hours, or at least until the vendor starts giving me dirty looks.

Be the Change – Even if I can’t afford the fashions, I like to see what’s in style. Then I can buy the knock off version at Club Monaco!

Becky – I had to go through the Vogue and rip out what I wanted so I could throw it out! It was taking up too much space!

I think Domino should be out later this week. I picked up mine at a Domino party which is why I had it early!

Cathy – the guy at my favorite newsstand asked me to marry him so you can tell how often I am there!

Habitually chic, you know that might not be a bad arrangement… you’d probably get free magazines for life! Who needs love when you can have great design?? LOL

I MUST subscribe to Domino. Every time I pick one up, I read it over and over! I might as well save myself the trouble and just subscribe!

Magazines are such a delicious little splurge. They’re like the gift that just keeps giving.

I have to say: fashion magazines leave me cold these days. The models are too scrawny, most of the clothes just don’t appeal… But home magazines are now my addiction. i actually think they are more interesting, forward-thinking and creative than fashion magazines now.
