A Different Kind of Girly

The last home was over the top feminine but this one is clean and white with a little girly pink thrown in. The homeowner, Pippa Holt, is a fashion editor in London and her home is a collection of objects she has collected over the years through her travels. The white floors and walls create a perfect plain background to make them pop too.

I love that she stacks her magazines under a lucite table just like Domino editor Tori Mellott did in her old apartment. I’m seeing a lot of Bertoia wire chairs around lately which are always a classic.

I love the mismatched chairs around the Biedermeier table.

The area rug from The Rug Company adds more color and shows there are different ways to be girly. For more, check out the March/April 2008 issue of Australian Vogue Living.

Heather – this is one of my favourites! I have the entire article on my inspiration board in my office! Love it!

I love this, the objects except the Bertoia chair aren’t necessarily what I would pick, but the way she combined them is so effortless, relaxed, and put together at the same time. Thanks for sharing!

I guess with a name like Pipa, one needs to be bold.
The name implies a colorful vision, nothing beige about her. Love it.

She has great style. Sorry to be an art stalker, but can you tell us the artist of the “USA” painting above the Biedermeier table. I am not confident I can get my hands on an Austrailian Vogue Living. Thanks for sharing these.

Has anyone sat in a Bertoia chair lately?? I wonder if they are comfortable or not.. I have always loved the way they look, but never sat in one.. guess I should go to Design Within Reach and try one out this weekend!!

Anna – It’s a good one! I can’t believe your Vogue Living is so fabulous and ours is pretty much defunct! So not fair!

PVE – I wish I was a Pippa! Sounds like she’s always happy!

Alis – the fun of interiors made up of collected items is that no two are the same! Instead of Bertoia, yours would have a different chair. That’s my favorite kind of decorating!

Vicki, I never thought about it looking very London. I will have to take a second look!

Ivy – I think zebra rugs are a classic! I still want one!

BA – I checked the credits but nothing was listed for the painting. Maybe someone here will know.

I’ve been buying tons of art on ebay lately. I’m obsessed! I loved buying it for the bachelor too. I might have to add art consulting to my repertoire!
