More than 15 Pieces of FLAIR!
by habituallychic
06 . 23 . 08I always say that my test of good interior design is if I would want to move in right away but now I can apply that same test to my new favorite store, Flair! It is beyond chic! If I wasn’t on a budget for the Bachelor, I would have bought up everything in the store, which is a mix of vintage and new pieces, as well as custom, that meld seamlessly together. It’s exactly the aesthetic that I love.
The owners are two former Coach fashion executives, Jon Maroto and George Nunno, who couldn’t have been nicer when I stopped in today. Flair actually originated as a group of home furnishings store in Florence and the two men convinced the owners that a Flair shop would be perfect for New York and I’m soooo glad that they did!
I really loved the photographs by Christopher Draghi, an artist living in New York, of statues and horses. Make sure you check out the book of images since not all of them are displayed in the store!
“Against a signature backdrop of black and white, FLAIR presents a unique proposition in home furnishings, decoration and gifts. Rigorously selected European and American vintage furnishings and accessories are seamlessly mixed with our own exclusive designs to create a highly individual style that transcends eras and origins.”
While I was there they mentioned that a new container has arrived in New York and new merchandise should be arriving soon!

damn that place is stunning! I would totally want to move in there.
Looks amazing, wish we had one in HK!
If I were to illustrate what my dream apartment looked like…It would be this shop. I feel like my bank account will be drained very soon. I would sell my soul for those blue lamps.
what a glamourous and chic spot for a party!
Oh my goodness, I’m going there this week…I think I need a little “Flair” in my apartment.
Thanks for sharing.
great find! thanks for passing it on.
this is so funny…i live in soho, just a few blocks north/west of this area, and was strolling the neighborhood last night. i discovered another wonderful shop in the neighborhood, which i’ll be posting about soon.
as this place was closed, i’m grateful for your little tour!

The black floors! The zebra! The mid-century furniture! OH MY!!! It’s all amazing . . . might be going into visual overload. LOVE all of it.

holy crap! what an insanely chic space to shop!
I don’t know if you’ve seen it but there is an article on the store in this months Elle Decor!
Good God I think I’ve died and gone to designer heaven. Boy, they’ve really done an amazing job of achieving that “abundant yet spare” look, haven’t they?
I agree with you – I’d have wanted to have purchased everything in the store as well!
I’m speechless after seeing the nude photo behind the rhino lamp. He’s go a great set of abs.
Hi Everyone! I’m so glad you all enjoyed the photos of Flair. If you are in NYC, you should definitely stop by and if not, you can always call them about an item as one reader did about some lamps! I hope you love them!
I actually went back last night and bought the most beautiful abstract painting for the bachelor. It’s so beautiful! Thanks to Jon and everyone at Flair for being so helpful and nice too! It’s a rarity in NYC that is much appreciated!
Oh, and to Anonymous, the abs are fabulous because they are on an Italian statue! The photographer is amazing! You should definitely check out his website for more images and then check with Flair for availability!
Thanks for sharing, will DEFINITELY check out when in NYC, and hoping we have that drink too!
Wow! I’m with Richie and Mrs. PvE, let’s move in and throw a party asap.
