Pretty in Pink

05 . 28 . 08You never know what is going to come up at work and today was no exception. I spent most of the day in meetings regarding the design for a client’s new lap pool at her home in Maine which meant quickly researching lap pool dimensions and cold climate pools. Part of my research led me to Martha Stewart‘s website since she has a home in Maine called Skylands. That’s where I found the following photos from her guest cottage with an interior painting entirely in pink. I usually don’t like pink but it’s a pale dreamy color that works well as a backdrop to some lovely grey wicker furniture. Enjoy!

Heather – I am not a “pink” girl either, but these rooms are great!
i have always wanted a fabric/ribbon (possibly padded) pin board like the one below! does anyone have any suggestions of where i can get one custom made with the fabric/ribbon/tack of my choice?
thank you!
I don’t usually like pink either, but this is stunning. I never realised how subtle and elegant pink could be.
I especially love the painting in the first photo.
The pink and the grey really work well together. What a serene place.
It’s pretty and feminine… too quiet for me personally… but lovely for a rest!
l lurve me some pink, but mot so much a pale pink like martha’s. i like my pinks to shout “PINK” and really get in your face…
This guest spot is pink and lovely. The white and gray work well with it… nice… Fay
I’m totally a pink girl and I love these rooms. Thank you for posting them.
Anna 🙂
Beautiful bedroom – especially like the gray bed and matching furniture. The pink reminds me of the color of the satin on a toe (ballet) shoe.
These rooms are like architectural peonies — they make me happy that summer is finally here!
Did Martha share the wall color?
lovely pictures..
such a pretty post – martha stewart never fails to impress!
i LOVE the bed – i want one just like that.
