The Ultimate Indulgence

I just had a facial from La Mer today at Bergdorf Goodman. Talk about decadent! It was amazing! And my facialist Michelle couldn’t have been nicer. She told me about how she left a corporate recruiting job to go back to school full time to become an aesthetician and how much she loves her job now. I always say it but I love hearing about people who have found their true calling and love going to work everyday. If you live in the New York tri-state area, you should call them up and put your name on the list for the next event. I also highly recommend the new Eye Concentrate. It’s a miracle cream in a jar. Now if I could just afford to slather my entire body in La Mer everyday I’d be in heaven!

I envy Erin Aerin Lauder, she uses La Mer on her foot.

At $160 a jar – I can tell you and I are not in the same income bracket!

Karina, Using La Mer on your feel is definitely an ultimate indulgence! Wow!

Susan, I consider it an investment for my skin. Also, you only use a tiny little bit of all their products so they last a long time. Believe me, I’ve tried every cream and potion out there at every price and I love La Mer. Although, Olay does make some great products as well!

Watch out for that new eye concentrate if you have sensitive skin–I love the Creme de la mer and the old eye cream but the new eye concentrate made my eyelids break out in a terrible eczema rash which was miserable itchy red and very unsightly!!

I used to think La Mer was a rip off, but a jar lasts me 5 or 6 months, so it’s more reasonable when I think about it that way. It’s really pretty amazing.

If that’s still a ridiculous amount to spend, a great alternative is ROC:

In fact, I think it might be better… it just doesn’t smell as nice.

Anonymous, you would never buy a car without test driving it first and I treat skincare the same way. I always try a sample first before buying any product. I happen to enjoy La Mer products and think they make my skin look great but understand they may not be for everyone.

Decorno, I have tried ROC before but was never impressed. I may have to try it again if you are singing their praises.
