First Look at Fall 2023

There comes a point each summer when I want to burn my summer clothes. I have not reached that point yet but I am ready to start thinking about fall fashions and planning out my wardrobe. I’ve already started buying some things too so I thought I’d put together a first look post.

I’m sure I’ll post a few more summer fashion posts so please don’t reply and yell at me and tell that it’s too soon etc. We are each on our own journey.

I always joke that if you’re not sweating when you are buying a coat, you are doing it wrong. By the time you need one or a pair of boots, they are usually sold out. I already purchased two Max Mara coats and I’m considering buying this grey ‘S Max Mara Coat too. It’s actually priced lower than other retailers so I’d jump on this before someone realizes that they mis-priced them. It is double-faced wool but I have found that due to climate change, I’m getting more wear out of these styles and haven’t been wearing my heavier coats as much each winter. This style is better suited to taller women unless you don’t mind getting it hemmed. I’d recommend the shorter Arona style for women under 5’4″ tall.

You can find more Max Mara styles at great prices here, here and here.

If you are looking for a much more reasonably priced grey wool coat, I like this Double Breasted Wool Blend Coat.

I’m loving matching sweater and skirt sets for fall and already ordered this brown Waisted Knit Cardigan and Knit Midi Skirt. I can tell the skirt will be too long for me but my tailor can hem knits so I would check if your tailor can too. It’s a light wool blend that can transition well to fall. When it’s still warm, you could pair it with a knit tank or a body suit and sandals and knee high boots later.

UPDATE: You guys have almost completely sold out the brown set but it’s now available in navy which I found in store this weekend. The navy cardigan and skirt set also comes with a bra top which is fun. The skirt is long but if I pull it up high, I can get away without hemming it.

I bought a pair of Chanel black suede pointed toe kitten heel shoes for fall. I can’t link to them because they are not online. If I hadn’t bought them, I would pair the Prada Slingback Pumps with the set. The Patent Kitten Heels on the bottom are a less expensive option. The Faux Snakeskin Kitten Heels would pull all the colors of the outfit together too.

The black leather clutch is the perfect size to carry your essentials when you don’t want to take a big bag. It’s also available in a great tan color. If I didn’t already have a Bordeaux leather tote from Khaite, I would definitely have this leather tote bag on my fall wish list. It’s a great bag for going back to the office.

I also think the lizard print iPhone would be perfect with this outfit. I plan to get the brown color for fall too.

The Bottega Veneta Small Drop Earrings (top) are still a must have jewelry item for fall. The pair on the bottom, are the insanely cheap dupe if you want the same look for less. If you want something similar but less trendy, try these twisted earrings.

Since the cardigan is v-neck, I would also add this gold-plated necklace or this less expensive pendant chain necklace.

If you aren’t into the big gold earrings, I’d add this black padded headband or tortoise headband.

When you are trying to extend your tan into fall, try this Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream or Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick.

This is for all my fellow fall lovers.

XOXO,
