La Rentrée September 2020
La Rentrée or the reentry period after summer is my favorite time of year because it means that life begins again in earnest in New York. Usually, fashion week kicks off with big events and then the fashion shows start. In the following weeks, there are press previews, lunches, design events, cocktail parties, art exhibitions, auction viewings, book launches, antique fairs, travel, visits from friends, and so much more. It’s an exciting time that brings so much energy to the city. I’m not sure what fall will look like this year. I have one road trip planned for October but nothing else planned thus far. I assume it will feel similar to the spring under quarantine when I took walks in Central Park and noticed every nuance of the changing season. Instead of flowers and green buds bursting forth this time, I will delight in the changing colors of the leaves and the crisp autumn air. It’s the little things now.
I’ve been wanting a new fisherman knit sweater and this cable-knit wool and cashmere-blend sweater might be the one I get this fall.
I almost always buy a new version of this Silk Wrap Blouse each fall to wear with jeans.
Joseph Dirand: Interior is a great book for fall.
I just bought this Safari Silk Shirt for fall which I will wear with jeans, flats, and a blazer.
I love the utility chic look of this large leather-trimmed organic cotton-canvas tote. It’s not a crazy price either.
I’m going to get this $75 Cashmere Sweater in every color before long.

These square toe leather ballet flats are the new style of shoe for fall.
This camel double-faced wool coat is the ideal fall topper.
I love the lighter color of this belted wool and cashmere-blend coat.
This large open leather tote also comes with a shoulder strap for easier carrying.
These cognac brown leather mules would be perfect with jeans for cooler weather.
The Hermès Heure H small gold-plated and textured-leather watch is the ultimate fall accessory. I have the larger stainless steel version of this watch with the blue band and I always regret not choosing the gold.
