The Halls are Decked: Part Deux
by habituallychic
12 . 19 . 19I posted this historic house from 1845 in Essex, Connecticut designed by the lovely design duo Olasky and Sinsteden a few weeks ago. The home is featured in the November/December 2019 issue of New England Home but the photos online were a little small. Photographer Read McKendree and Max Sinsteden were very generous in sending me larger images to swap out. Then I realized there were more rooms photographed and they agreed I could include them all in a new post. They were just too good not to share.
Max and Catherine Olasky decorated the house and took care of all the holiday decorations and Doretta Sperduto helped with the magazine styling. The architect was Robert Orr + Associates, he builder was HP Broom, and the landscape designer was Carol Orr.
I think the reason I love the work of Olasky and Sinsteden so much is that they always make traditional interiors look so fresh. Those who say they don’t like brown furniture and antiques should definitely take a look at their work.
Happy Holidays!
