A Visit to Frances Palmer’s Studio and Garden

10 . 07 . 19I had the pleasure of visiting potter Frances Palmer at her studio and gardens in Connecticut on a lovely early fall day recently. The leaves were already changing but her dahlias were still in full bloom. Frances is not only throws her own pots but also grows all the flowers that she photographs in them for Instagram. Did I mention that she also fires all her pots in her own kilns, packs all her own orders, and keeps bees on the old tennis court that has now become a second garden. The tall fence around the court has the added bonus of keeping out the deer. And in her spare time, she bakes amazing desserts for her family and hosts workshops and events. I’m surprised she even had time for a visit but I’m very glad she made the time.
