Now that summer has officially begun, it means lots of weekends away and parties. You shouldn’t arrive empty handed so I’ve put together a great group of hostess gifts that will help get you invited back. As with all my gift guides, I always think it’s nice to bring an ephemeral gift like a bottle of wine and baked goods with a longer lasting gift that will remind your hosts of your fun visit like the Aerin Ardsley Champagne Bucket with Woven Handle above with bottles of champagne and rosé.
How fun would it be to bring hand-painted straw beach bag filled with magazines, books, and snacks?
You can’t go wrong bringing new books like Farm from Home: A Year of Stories, Pictures, and Recipes from a City Girl in the Country.
How about a retro style Smeg Juicer and a bag of oranges and a bottle of champagne to make mimosas in the morning? It also comes in four other colors.
After you juice the oranges, you could decant it into this chic Cane Wicker Carafe and set of four cane wicker glasses.
Bring a Lucite Backgammon Set and teach everyone to play for a backgammon tournament.
Monogrammed playing cards would make a fun rainy day activity.
I love the idea of bringing an Enamel Party Bucket filled with family friendly flavored sodas for everyone to enjoy.
I still think Vogue Living: Country, City, Coast is a great gift but why not bring Vogue Living: Houses, Gardens, People as well.
I can’t imagine anyone turning up their nose at an orange box of three Hermes Garden Soaps.
You would definitely get invited back each year if you brought a few of these insanely chic Beach Umbrellas to your host’s beach house.
If your friends have beach towels that have seen better days, they would love you if you brought a basket of new beach towels. I especially love this blue and yellow beach towel with pom poms.
It would be very chic to show up with a Wicker Dome with Plate and a homemade apple pie. Or you could just buy a pie at a farm stand on the drive. I won’t tell.
A monogramed Bean Bag Toss Game would be fun for little kids and big kids.
Bring I Love California and all the ingredients for one of Nathan Turner’s delicious recipes.
I just went to Kerber’s Farm last Friday and I think this Jam Sampler Crate would be a lovely gift with a few loaves of different bread for breakfast.
Bring this Blue and White Casserole Dish and all the ingredients to make a meal for your hosts.
Nothing says summer like hydrangea and this set of Four Hydrangea Cocktail Napkins would be appreciated by anyone. I would take two sets and a big bouquet of blue hydrangea.
I don’t love giving candles in the summer but this Blue and White Candle in hydrangea scent would be something that they can enjoy long after the candle is gone.
My favorite thing in London are the green and white striped sling chairs in Hyde Park. Why not bring your hosts some chic blue and white Teak Sling Chairs for their yard or the beach. They come in 10 different colors and patterns too.
Speaking of England, I can’t imagine anyone not loving India Hicks: A Slice of England highlighting her family homes. Include a copy of her mother Lady Pamela Hicks’s book Daughter of Empire: My Life as a Mountbatten for a full circle gift.
If you haven’t guessed already, I think you should always bring food to someone’s home when you are a guest. I would fill this Sandbar Tray with snacks people can grab all weekend.
I would bring this Aerin Figural Leaf Chip & Dip Platter with all the ingredients for guacamole and a big bag of chips.
This Woven Glass Pitcher would be great with all the ingredients for lemonade or sangria.
How fun would it be to bring these Brunch Cocktail Napkins and everything depicted on them for your hosts?
Happy Summer and Bon Weekend!
XOXO,
HC
