Master art restorer Toto Bergamo Rossi is renowned for his restoration work in Italy but it’s his house in Croatia that is getting attention in the new issue of Vogue. He had actually worked on restoration projects in Croatia for years before falling in love with the unspoiled landscape and view. He found an old chapel and nun’s quarters on the property of a monastery that would become his personal paradise. He left the decor very spare in keeping with the location. “It’s all very monastic but you don’t need more; the amazing thing about it is you have only to open the windows and look out.” Sounds like the perfect place to get away from it all.
