Habitually Chic Favorite Things Gift Guide 2017

I wanted to begin my gift guides this year with some of my favorite things. (Yes, like Oprah but not as extensive.) These gift ideas could be for host/hostess gifts, stocking stuffers, or items for anyone on your list, even yourself.
There is no store as overwhelming in a good way like Fortnum & Mason in London. The whole shop is full of great gifts but their signature hampers take things to the next level. Did you know the hampers were created for “customers journeying to their country estates”? This Fortnum & Mason Sovereign Hamper would make anyone feel like British aristocracy.
I can’t imagine any design or fashion obsessed person who would not love to receive Vogue Living: Country, City, Coast for the holidays. Even though I’m currently editing out my books, I am definitely making room for this one. Hint, hint.
I know some people dismiss the idea of giving scented candles as a gift but I don’t know anyone who would turn their nose up to anything from Diptyque. You can’t go wrong with the classic Baies or Figuier but I love the seasonal Feu d’Argumes/Fiery Orange Dragon Candle. The dragon reminds me of Game of Thrones but there is also a Unicorn Frosted Forest Candle and Larmes d’Encens/Incense Tears Phoenix Candle as well as Cosmic Seasonal Candle Trio set of all three scents.
I think this Crosley Cruiser Deluxe Turntable would be a fun gift for anyone but even more fun for a teenager. Introduce them to records and include some old vinyl favorites to get them started. I love it in orange but it also comes in seven other cool colors.
These vintage Royal Copenhagen Hunt Plates would make a great gift for the equestrian in your life.
The Aerin Beauty Discovery Fragrance Set would be a lovely gift for anyone looking for a new perfume.
I love the idea of giving a fleeting gift with something long lasting. How about this Tortoise Ice Bucket with Tongs with the recipients favorite mixed drink fixings.
A great book for the gardner in your like if Bunny Mellon: The Life of an American Style Legend. I already own this book and I’m hoping to find some quiet time over the holidays for reading.
Bunny Mellon was known for her topiaries so why not send one to a special friend in this Gold Woven Cachepot.
Louis Sherry Chocolates might have actually been one of Oprah’s favorite things and rightly so. The chocolates are delicious and come in beautiful colored boxes.
The holidays are a fun time to play games and a perfect time to teach your friends and family how to play backgammon on this pretty Colorful Backgammon Set.
For the person who has everything, why not Hermes Play Tie Bridge Playing Cards?
Why not a Paris Giant Modal Scarf for your favorite Francophile? There is also an Italy version, pillows, and other fun scarf patterns here.
Another great gift for the person who has everything is this Buly 1803 Retour d’Egypte Home Fragrance Set. I’ve never seen anything like the porous stone diffuser on which you pour the scent. The Buly Egypt scent is one of my favorites so this might be a gift I buy myself this Christmas.
My apartment is really hot because of the steam heat but I still find my feet getting cold. I love these UGG Water Resistant Slippers because they don’t have ties which always come undone or break. They not only have a warm shearling lining but a rubber sole which means you can walk outside to pick up your paper. I think I’m going to buy myself a pair in the coastal green color but there are eight other colors from which to chose. Why not buy a pair for everyone in your family for Christmas morning.
If you want to pamper someone who travels often, this La Mer Mini Miracles Collection is the perfect gift.
Another great book for the design lover in your life is Haute Bohemians.
This Cashmere And Silk Eye Mask is another great frequent flier gift.
Everyone loves the Santal 26 Classic Candle but I think it’s an especially nice gift for a man’s apartment.
The Fujifilm Instax Share Smartphone Printer is a fun family and friends gift to give at a holiday party. You can take photos on your phone and print them out to share.
How cute is this Dexton Red Racer? What child wouldn’t be excited to see this under the tree Christmas morning? There are other car options and playhouses available here.
The first car photo is from The White Company. Another great place to find gifts.
Happy Holidays!
XOXO,
HC
