When you visit San Francisco, you start to realize how many places Ken Fulk has designed in the city. I’ll have more on this next week but until then, I wanted to revisit one of his finest design projects in the Presidio Heights area of the city that was featured in Elle Decor last year. During a four year renovation, he “punched holes in period ceilings and floors; created and installed a four-story spiral stair case; configured a basement theater and gym; designed a palatial master bedroom; constructed a 60-foot-long new kitchen; added skylights; planted a fern court.” He also hired the best craftsmen to create a home that illustrates what happens when the right client and right designer make magic together.

I just stayed last week in a house in Provincetown he worked on and it was pretty great -he has a wonderful eye. He also worked on my favorite restaurant and bar in Provincetown too, strangers & saints.

This is beyond fabulous! What a great eye and sense of design and color he has. I’d comment on individual things he’s done, but I don’t know where to start… maybe those club chairs with the painted panels on the back. Oh my stars! Brenda

What a marvelous house! And the only room with pot lights in the ceiling is the kitchen…as it should be! He stayed true to the age and style of the house but made it look “today” as well. My only complaint? That gorgeous kitchen needs to lose those 5 ridiculous stools at the island. There is a table right behind it! They distract the eye as well as boggle the mind.
