On Monday, I had the pleasure of visiting Madeline Weinrib‘s chic showroom to see her new cotton carpets, outdoor fabrics, and bags. The new floral cotton weave Camilla carpets are a breath of fresh air this spring and a great departure from ubiquitous stripes. The flowers while inspired by Botticelli are a little bit fanciful and also based on what the weavers in India can actually produce. Floral designs are extremely difficult and took two years to perfect. There are seven different patterns and color combinations perfect for any decor. If you are willing to wait, you can even custom order a specific size.
I was amazed at how the printed outdoor fabrics actually look like Madeline’s regular fabric collection. She told me that clients are buying them not just for outside but also kitchens and children’s rooms since they are so durable.
The other new pieces include embroidered evening clutches and printed make up bags that are also perfect for the beach since they are waterproof. The rack of embroidered and ikat caftans are the perfect complement.
The Madeline Weinrib showroom is a visual feast of inspiration and pattern, from the endless shelves of carpet colors and fabrics to her wall of vintage photos and books. It makes me want to buy everything and book a trip. Make an appointment to see the new carpets and be inspired.
