In honor of International Women’s Day, I thought it would be appropriate to post about one of my favorite inspiring women.
This year marks the 10 year anniversary of Habitually Chic and I still can’t believe all the wonderful people it’s brought into my life. It’s even more special when people I admire follow and enjoy what I do as well. Such is the case with Aerin Lauder. She’s been such a wonderfully encouraging to me over the years and I am awed by how much she has accomplished since we first met. It would have been easy for her rest on her laurels and stay Estee Lauder, the company her grandmother founded, but it was very brave to launch a company in her own name. She has impeccable taste and style which has translated perfectly to beauty, home decor, and accessories. But more importantly, she’s also really nice. The older you get, the more you realize that you only want to support are those who are kind and considerate.
I had the pleasure of attending a beautiful flower filled event last week to celebrate Aerin Lauder‘s new rose colognes: Garden Rose, Bamboo Rose, and Linen Rose. The lighter fragrances are the perfect end of winter pick me up as was the event. The main room was full of gorgeous roses tended to by Raul Avila and his staff who created a bouquet for each guest to take home. The other room mixed all of Aerin’s beautiful table top pieces with sweet treats from the tiny Brooklyn based Japanese Patisserie Burrow. It was so all so gorgeous, I didn’t want to leave but the flowers and fragrance gifts helped bring the feeling home.
