If you have $20 Million lying around, Grey Gardens, the home made famous by the documentary of the same name could be yours. While the seven-bedroom former home of Kennedy cousins Big Edie and Little Edie Beale has been available for rent for years, but it is now for sale with Corcoran.
The house was sold in 1979 to former Washington Post Executive Editor Ben Bradlee and his wife, journalist Sally Quinn who spent over $600,000 restoring the derelict home. Much of the furniture including all the wicker was found in the attic and refurbished. The sale price does not include these pieces but Sally said it could be available for purchase by the buyer.
You can walk to the beach and even see the ocean from some of the rooms in the three story shingle-style house located in East Hampton. The couple spent every August at Grey Gardens until Ben died in 2014. It just wasn’t the same without him which is why Sally has decided to sell.
If you decide to buy, please invite me for a weekend.
