Luca’s Lair

I Am Love is one of the most visually stunning films I’ve ever seen. Of course it helps that much of it is set in Villa Necchi in Milan. It’s no wonder that Luca Guadagnino, the filmmaker behind it and the new film A Bigger Splash, has created his own chic home in a 17th-century palazzo in Italy. The home had been abandoned for 40 years after the owner died so it took quite a lot of work to bring it back from the brink. Luca told T magazine who featured the home, “My secret desire is to be an interior designer. I’d love to make houses for rich clients who can afford to do things right.” Looks like he might have a back up career if filmmaking doesn’t work out.
