Classically Elegant Christmas
This weekend I bought a new wreath, two Amaryllis, and a small Christmas tree. I look forward to puling out all my vintage ornaments and decorations next. But I have a long way to go though to live up to the classically elegant holiday decorations of interior designer Suzanne Rheinstein recently featured on One Kings Lane. I love her subdued color scheme and use of natural elements such as branches, fruits and pinecones. While I have to buy them in a store in New York, most of you might be able to find them in your backyard. One holiday tradition that I share with Ms. Rheinstein is displaying pomanders, which are clove studded oranges. They are very easy to make and scent your home perfectly for the holidays. You just have to make sure you switch them out occasionally as they ripen.
And while I’m focused on Christmas right now, I didn’t want to forget to wish my Jewish friends and readers a very Happy Hanukkah.
I hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season right now.
