Chic Style Crush: Leila Yavari

Fashion week begins right after the Labor Day holiday so there is always lots of outfit planning that happens this time of year. One woman whose style I always look to for inspiration is the Stylebop.com fashion director Leila Yavari. She describes her own style as “clean, monastic, and modern” which clearly doesn’t translate to boring. I love seeing how she restyles her staple pieces like the black leather skirt, black leather pants, suede pumps, and Fendi Peekaboo bag in different combinations when she’s on the road for fashion month.
She told W magazine about her daily uniform, “There are definitely key pieces that I return to over and over again: a button-up silk blouse, tailored trousers, stilettos, and an oversized handbag that doubles as a work bag. With my schedule, versatility is always key, but I also love the challenge of finding subtle updates and twists within the parameters (this might be the lingering influence of my primary school uniforms). These days, I begin with the essentials and let intuition do the rest.”
