Watch Repair Referral Needed

I’m usually the one who answers your questions and tries to help you but this time I need your help. Today I stopped by a local store for a new watch band for my father’s vintage Breitling watch that I still have not returned to him.  The same man had changed the watch band for me a year or so ago without a problem so I trusted him to do it again.  Unfortunately, he damaged one of the original spring bar pins that go through the band and hold it onto the watch.  Because the watch is vintage from the late 1930’s or early 40’s, it requires a special bar.

The Breitling store on 57th Street referred me to a repair shop in Pennsylvania but they want to do the work only if they give the watch a full service.  The turn around time is 7-8 months. Neither my father nor I feel comfortable sending the watch away for that amount of time.  It had a service a few years ago and runs perfectly fine. It just needs a new pin.

So I’m asking you dear readers, do any of you have a watch repair shop recommendation for anywhere in New York City?  I have one place I’m going to try in the jewelry district but if they can’t help me, I’d love to have a few other places on my list to visit.

Thank you in advance for your help!
