I had a crazy schedule last week and I couldn’t wait to sleep in this weekend.  Of course if I had a bedroom that looked like the one that David Phoenix designed for the 2015 Kips Bay Decorator Show House, I would probably never leave my bed to to go anywhere.  When I spoke with the Los Angeles based Phoenix, he said he really wanted a bedroom in the house and lucky for him and us, his wish was granted.

His master bedroom is the perfect space for relaxing that’s neither too masculine or too feminine. Many of the walls in this show house are upholstered but they make the most sense in a bedroom to block out sounds that might disrupt your slumber. The tartan on the walls here is from Cowton & Tout as is the fabric on the chairs. While I loved everything in the room, I really loved that the wall to wall carpet looked like an ivory cable knit sweater.

It looks and feels like the kind of place where you would immediately want to kick off your shoes and curl up with a good book before heading to bed. Maybe the Kips Bay Decorator Show House should offer up an overnight stay in the house at auction so you could do just that one evening. I know I would place a bid.
