Golden Globes Red Carpet Recap 2015
by habituallychic
01 . 11 . 15I’m still recovering my recent trip so it was fun to stay home Sunday and watch the Golden Globes red carpet and award show. Most everyone looked amazing but there were a few that I and everyone on Twitter were a little on the fence about. Felicity Jones in Dior above was not one of them. The color was one of the most original of the night and the fit was perfect. I almost bought a similar colored dress from Lanvin and not I regret it more than ever.
I love a dress with pockets and Amy Poehler looked chic and comfortable in this electric blue Stella McCartney gown.
Winner Amy Adams looked lovely in Atelier Versace but maybe a bit boring.
I loved Naomi Watts in this yellow Gucci gown but I might have left off the belt after she put on the Bulgari snake necklace.
Leslie Mann also looked lovely in this yellow Kaufman Franco gown but it was the green clutch that upped the ante.
Allison Williams looked pretty in Armani Prive but I wasn’t blown away by it. Lena Dunham also wore red but I’m not a fan of the mullet dress so I didn’t include her. She definitely needs a new stylist.
But Helen Mirren in Dolce & Gabbana and Chopard knocked it out of the park.
Taylor Shilling was another lady in red in custom Ralph Lauren.
As was Viola David in Donna Karan.
Julianna Margulies in Ulyana Sergeenko looked a little meh.
But I loved Anna Kendrick in Monique Lhuillier. She looked like a very chic princess.
I don’t necessarily think Prada and Miu Miu make good red carpet dresses but the Miu Miu dress on Sienna Miller seems to suit her hippie dippie personality.
One that not everyone loved was Kiera Knighley in Chanel. I would have probably loved it more without the matronly collar.
Clearly Jennifer Lopez won the sexiest covered up woman of the night in sparkly Zuhair Murad.
Diane Kruger looked impeccable and effortless in Emilia Wickstead.
Reese Witherspoon also looked chic in a Calvin Klein column gown.
Kate Hudson just gets better and better. I loved her in white Atelier Versace.
I liked Selma Hayek until I saw that flower in her hair. She would have been perfect in Alexander McQueen if she took off about 10 accessories.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus in custom Narciso Rodriguez with Irene Neuwirth jewels was perfection.
I love Emily Blunt so much. I wish I could be her friend. She looked so chic and comfortable in her custom Michael Kors gown.
Rosamund Pike had a baby five weeks ago. I don’t even look this good after not having a baby five weeks ago. It was a risk to wear something so bare like this Vera Wang dress but I loved it.
Poor Tina Fey looked like she was wearing a sparkly apron from the side because the back of her dress was black. Who approved this look for her? They need to be fired.
I lvoe Lanvin and Emma Stone but not sure I love this look on her.
But I’ve never seen Melissa McCarthy look better. Her stylist deserves a bonus for this great choice,
Really disappointed that George Clooney let Amal out of the house in those gloves.
Julianne Moore was one of my best dressed in Givenchy. We share the same colorist so I will also feel an affinity for her. She’s another actress who gets better with age.
I love Jennifer Anniston but a little bored that she always wears black but I do appreciate her updo and choice of Saint Laurent.
Jane the Virgin actress and Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez looked amazing in not so boring black. I don’t know the designer though which is a shame.
Claire Danes looks a bit hippie chick but it’s Valentino so it’s really chic and expensive hippie chick.
Jessica Chastain was a very beautiful bronze goddess in Atleier Versace and I applaud her for the interesting color choice.
Who was your favorite of the night???
