Chic Charlize

I walked past a newsstand on rue Saint-Honore today and checked to see if they had any new American magazines.  I actually peeked to see if they had a new Vogue. They did not and this is one silly thing I will miss about living abroad. I know I can read them online but it’s not the same.  You can’t even see the screen on a tablet if you want to sit in the sun and read. Not sure when I’ll actually be able to find the June 2014 issue with Charlize Theron on the cover but I look forward to reading it in the Jardins du Palais Royal when I do.

Try WH Smith at 248 Rue de Rivoli, 75001. Or another option is to get a temporary membership to the American Library in Paris.

I was going to say the same thing-WH Smith but be prepared for a price shock. Then walk down to st Honore, turn right and go down a few blocks to Colette if you haven’t which is a concept store with the newest of everything. Don’t forget to look upstairs too.

Monica – merci for the suggestion. I will check them out soon!

Linda – I’ve been to Colette many times before but thanks The Broken Arm in the Marais is the newest cool shop if you haven’t been there yet.

I’m so excited Charlize is on the cover. She’s so beautiful. Also, kind of on topic, but sort of not…last time I was in Paris, I bought French Vogue and included in the plastic-wrapped package was a mini booklet with the Vogue cover on it, but blank pages inside. I love writing my notes in it and thought it was the neatest thing that they have that. I’ve never come across the extra “gift” in the U.S.

My great uncle designed the jardins du palais royal – Mark Rudkin. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
