Oscar’s New Creative Director of Home
by habituallychic
02 . 02 . 14A little tidbit in WWD caught my attention last week. It announced that Carolina Irving had just been named creative director of home for Oscar de la Renta. Carolina will oversee the in-house home collection as well as those for Lee Jofa, Century Furniture, and Elson & Company. She will replace former creative director Miles Redd who is leaving to focus on his own interior design business. Carolina is a textile designer and you can see from her own home pictured here, she has a love of print and pattern. I look forward to seeing how this new appointment plays out at Oscar de la Renta Home.

WOW, what incredible style!
A house that is a home! So confortable, full of soul and personality!
Thanks

What a charming home. She certainly isn’t afraid of a little pattern, is she? I cannot combine two patterns successfully, let alone 250 at once. She’s a genius!
Lovely collection of images of her home…thanks for sharing. I had seen a few before but lovely to see more.

A refreshing Scholars lair…one with a nod to Castaing, Istanbul, Andalucia, France and England! No cookie cutter MidCentury or Spa interior for this SOUL OF THE AGES…too bad FEAR OF THE UNKNOWING MASSES have caused only a sprinkling of this type to exist in the pages of recent years magazines …ALL keep showing catalog or showroom vignettes…this is Style known only to those with a Taste one is born with!
I love her style: high/low; patinated/polished; modern/18th c.; old masters/modern lithos–absolutely pitch perfect. Wishing Carolina all the best at Oscar’s.

She’s the perfect choice for Oscar!!
Perfect fit!
The wall of books is fantastic. I like the little corners for having quiet moments or such. Fantastic!
All those accessories tell a story! It’s the type of house you would love to explore!
