Bust a Move

One thing that’s hard to find in the United States is a bust.  And I don’t mean the surgically enhanced kind. Visit LA and you will see a million.  I’m talking about marble busts and also heads and torsos.  They are more commonly found from European antiques dealers and occasionally the flea market.  The scarcity of busts here makes me jealous of Madrid based interior designer Luis Bustamante who seems to use them and other marble pieces in all of his designs. After seeing them all, I think another trip to Europe might have to be planned soon.

Long time daily reader finally de lurking to say thank you for posting these inspiring images. I love the cool neoclassical vibe all these rooms share and agree we just don’t see enough of this kind of bust. I could spend a week just looking at the Greek and Roman wing at the Met, in fact the Met store has some really beautiful reproduction pieces if you are looking to get a bust of your own!

And the tables upon which they rest – covet!
