Ode to Autumn
by habituallychic
09 . 03 . 13Harper’s Bazaar Executive Editor Laura Brown tweeted yesterday, “Summer, I moved on emotionally weeks ago.” I couldn’t agree more. I’m ready for crisp, cool weather, cashmere sweaters, and changing leaves. Let’s be clear, I am not ready for winter. Even though my grey mink coat makes it slightly more bearable, it is not fun. But I digress. I know many of you feel the same way so here’s a little inspiration to get us all in the mood.
By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.

There is nothing that compares to the feeling of autumn weather. This morning after labour day there is a change in the air which brings with it the promise of something special. I always greet this new season with heightened anticipation.
I have chills. Thanks!
My favorite time of year and I am enjoying any cooler days we have here in Kansas City!

Thanks.
Hi. Who is the artist for the lead painting? It’s lovely.
Thanks.
As it has been hitting at least 95* for the past 10 days an counting, I needed this post to give me hope that autumn is on the way.
Beautiful photos.

Virgo – the artist is listed at the end of the post.
Although I feel totally the opposite-appropriately enough, here on the opposite coast, each and every one of the images you’ve chosen are just beautiful.
My quest this Fall: to find The PERFECT creamy cable knit sweater that isn’t a nightmare of heavy itchiness.
Just putting it out there…

I don’t know which is more beautiful, the pumps or the rug! I have a thing for antique rugs. Alas, but one’s home can only hold so many…
“Better things are coming!”
It is for this reason that I give much value to everything I see.
Beautiful photographs!
