Movember
by habituallychic
11 . 20 . 12After noticing that every guy at Milk Studios had a beard last November, I was alerted to something called Movember. Each November, men grow mustaches to “raise vital awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.” Friends and family make donations in exchange for them not shaving for the month of Novembner. The only problem is that growing a mustache can make some men look like they are the creepy sort who drive a windowless van if you know what I mean. I think that’s why many end up growing a full beard which becomes the winter fixture for the downtown dudes. In honor of Movember, I’ve put together a group of my favorite hirsute hipsters and celebs. If you’d like to make a donation, you can do so here.

That was some hairy eye candy!
Very nice selection of bearded beauties. For the first time in my 43 years I am growing a beard. It has been about 3.5 months and now I am afraid to get it trimmed. I need to find a hipster beard stylist which might be hard to do here in DC.
I like the beard look 😉

It’s amazing how some men look so different with a mustache! Love it!

Hi Heather,
I am one of the many who now have a beard.
Never thought in my life I would grow one. But they can look so good on so many different people of any age, (as we can clearly see in your photo montage).
Thanks for the wonderful post on the boys beard.
Warm wishes,
Daryl
How about Nick Wooster, super stylish + facial hair
This is the first year I’ve become aware of this bread growing event. Bravo to these men. I lost my father to prostate cancer.
Does my small, persistent beard count?
Best,
Jennifer
What a way to start a day off right! Thanks for the heavy sighs, Heather! lol…(No one beats Paul Newman)
Maybe I’ll grow one too.
Heather, Thank you. This took the edge off my day of crazies.

It’s interesting to see so many celebs with facial hair. I like most, especially Clooney, but then again, does he every NOT look good? http://www.tracysnewyorklife.com
