Revisiting Versailles
by habituallychic
05 . 16 . 12All the talk about the Chanel Resort 2013 show at Versailles had me thinking back to my last visit to the palace. While I posted photos of Le Petit Trianon and the grounds, I never posted any photos from the interior of Versailles itself. These images are from The King’s Interior Apartments and The Royal Chapel that you see on the guided tour. They definitely make me want to make another trip now that I have my better camera. Perhaps I should adopt the attitude, “après moi, le déluge” and just go.

So beautiful and majestic! Too bad there is no more French Royalty to live here now. Just a thought.
Versailles….one of my favorites!
It`s been a few years since I visited Versaille so it is fantastic to see these photos. I didn`t even notice those amazing door knobs when I was there so those photos were neat to see. The pretty drapes ring a bell thought. It`s still unbelievable to think people lived like this. Ahhh what a dream.

Wow…your post couldn’t have come at a better time…we’re off again to Versailles next week. I don’t think you ever tire of visiting such a remarkable space. Gorgeous shots!
That last image is wonderful.
Lovely stuff- gorgeous pictures, but like the first commenter.. sort of sad as it all seems very empty- I miss the huge crowd of curtseying courtiers, and the intrigue, the gossip, the people, the fashion, the costumes..or maybe I have just seen too many Hollywood movies..( I am thinking the one with John Malkovitch, Glenn Close and Michelle Pfeiffer and a very young Keano Reeves…) ..love the fabric !
Glad to see that I’m not the only person with chipping paint problems! ;-)(the pics are gorgeous!)
Versailles is gorgeous, but there were WAY too many people when I visited. They need to limit how many people can visit a day, because it was out of control.
