Marvelous Model Apartment
by habituallychic
03 . 07 . 12While I was at The Apthorp recently viewing a special exhibition, interior designer Stephen Sills also gave me a tour of the model apartments he designed. This one happens to be a bit more traditional and makes great use of all the beautiful architectural details. He actually made it a point to convince the developer to keep as much original details as possible including mother of pearl switches which is usually unheard of today. I’m very much an Upper East Side girl but if any building could convince me to go West, it would be The Apthorp.

the tete-a-tete sofa is great–you so rarely see them used, and as properly as this one.
Wow, I’m just blown away by the this home. The couryard is magnificent and the details are incredible. It makes me long to live in New York as you’d have a tough time finding something like this in California.
This apartment is gorgeous! Being a bio major the only thing I don’t like is the chandelier in the living room.. it looks like a cancerous cell. lol.
Love this apartment!
Is this on the upper-west side? Near Broadway and Amsterdam Ave?

I adore the juxtaposition of more modern pieces against a very traditional backdrop. I shudder to think what that apartment goes for…
OMG that living room is TDF!
Totally besotted with this. So in love with the original features and the soft palette…. if only it could be my US home 🙂
I LOVE the bedroom….ahhhh, the moldings, fireplace, and ceiling contrasted with the art (love the prints on the mantel) and chic brass lamps and furniture. It all blends beautifully. Thanks for sharing.
When will you be moving in?
Love the light fixtures.
