Marvelous Model Apartment: Part Deux
by habituallychic
03 . 09 . 12I apologize for a lack of post yesterday but things have been extremely busy and incredibly crazy to paraphrase Jonathan Safran Foer. These photos are from the second model apartment designed by Stephen Sills at The Apthorp building on the Upper West Side. I think my favorite part has to be the kitchen. I always gravitate toward white kitchens until I see a dark one that makes me question everything I normally love. The dark color works especially well for a more masculine space too. And don’t even get me started on those herringbone floors. Beyond gorgeous. Hope they make up for yesterday. Bon Weekend!

Heather, completely agree with you on this kitchen. Normally I like white …the gray completely works and I am dying for herringbone wood floors!

Wow. My favourite part is the herringbon floors in the kitchen and the killer modern fixture in the living room contrasted with the ceiling rose. Love this space.
Beautiful interior trough and through! BUT I do wish our colleagues( or the photo stylists ) would stop the dated “karate chop” on the pillows. It is so unnatural looking and even worse when there is a whole collection of them . Don’t you agree?
The place is so great that it is a minor detail of course but it is unfortunate.
Yum!
Gorgeous–definitely a guy’s space. Mary
I agree completely…the kitchen is gorgeous! The flooring and colours are perfection. I was wondering where you got the ‘daybed’ in the office….I would love one for my office!
