Chic in Atlanta: Ann Mashburn

Also top on my list to visit in Atlanta were visiting the Ann Mashburn and Sid Mashburn stores.  I had heard so much about them that I couldn’t wait to check them out for myself.  I can definitely say that they don’t disappoint.  The men’s store Sid Mashburn opened first in 2007 and it took some prodding by the couple’s five daughters to convince their mother to open Ann Mashburn, the ladies store in 2010. Ann Mashburn herself is actually quite qualified in the fashion realm having worked under Polly Mellon at Vogue in New York as well as for Glamour and J.Crew.  She also happened to be around the day I visited and could not have been nicer.  That made the visit even more special.
Of course, I couldn’t leave without buying a little something and what I bought is actually a testament to Ann Mashburn’s great design skills.  I loved the Jackson Pollock look of a splatter print shirt but it was a pop over which usually never looks good on me.  (A pop over is a shirt that only buttons half way down like a tunic.) I need pieces that give me a waist but I decided to try it on just in case.  It was perfectly fitted and nipped in at the waist and very flattering.  More importantly, the collar stays put when you pop it up.  The shirt gets an A+ in my book and I have a feeling I’ll be calling down to Atlanta to order it in every print!

The splatter print shirt designed by Ann Mashburn that I bought at the store.

These new Taffin candles by James de Givenchy smell amazing!

The moodboard was pretty epic!

Great post this store looks amazing! Do you remember who made the black leather bag with top handles in the picture with the Vogue Living book?

    Thanks!

I LOVE Atlanta. Being from Cleveland, I have the opportunity to collaborate with Atlanta creative power-couple Rob & Jill Brinson. Jill recommended Ann Mashburn a few summers ago and every time I visit I swing by their for shirts & shoes. Star Provisions (next door) fro Orla Keily and the Taqueria for the best fish tacos around! Cleveland loves Atlanta!

My finances are supremely lucky I don’t live in Atlanta, or I would be in there every week. The website has a tightly edited version of fantastic must-haves, and the staff(Camille is a goddess in her dedication and helpfulness) will give honest advice and walk you through anything by phone or email. Ann and Sid deserve all the recognition they get. They are amazing.

That has got to be one of the most stunning interiors of a boutique I’ve seen! Love this post 🙂

I love her style, and I’m in love with her displays. Ladders[old drying racks?], vintage chairs, etc. So creative. Great post!
