Chic Revisted

I was thinking about reposting Aerin Lauder’s beautiful holiday decorated East Hampton home from the old House & Garden when I discovered new photos on Vogue.com.  It’s also been seen in Elle Decor but with any family house it has evolved and changed over the years.  It looks like the living room has been repainted from a burnt orange to a deep blue charcoal grey.  The sofa seems to have been moved from against the wall to the middle of the room. Slipcovers may have been changed and artwork moved around but it’s still just as chic.  Just like Ms. Lauder herself.

New view of the living room.
Living room as it appeared in Elle Decor.

Heather I love each and every room. elegant, liveable grace, gleaming crystal and hardware throughout. Beautiful fabrics and wall colors, nothing overdone.

they are not the same room– the blue room is across the hall (you can see it behind Aerins head in the leopard sofa shot.

Ah, the perfect post to end my blog surfing on this morning. I can never get enough of that house or her. Thanks so much! I’m giddy and inspired this Sunday.

This is absolutely my dream home – oh wait, mine DOES look like that on a slightly less grand scale. Agreed, Ms. Lauder has exquisite taste!

oops, my bad — the brain was not coummunicating with the eyes today… the vase of green leaves in the blue/lavender room threw me since she has the same thing going on in the newly painted dark room with leopard sofa. So its not the same room, just strangely styled exactly like the room across the hall.

Totally loving the wagoneer.Oh and the brass pulls in the kitchen. Brass seems so underused these days.

I love the gray that was chosen for the living room–it is a gray that seems to breathe with the changing light exposure. Of course, the green of the slipper chairs is amazing. Thanks. Mary
