Neutral Territory
by habituallychic
10 . 25 . 11I love this outfit that was photographed by Facehunter during fashion week. The color combination makes a lovely ensemble and also decorating scheme. The pop of black adds a little punctuation to neutral shades like camel, brown, ivory, and white. The best part of using these shades in a room is that you can add Zebra rug. I think I’m going to have to resume my hunt for one again. Sigh.

I love all of these interiors, but I think my favorite is the last one. I really like all of the different elements.
Gorgeous every single one but that living room from Atlanta Homes reigns surpreme for me! Love the outfit too, its such a “me” outfit, I love neutrals with a small pop of color on occasion.
Absolutely gorgeous neautrals dahhling!
I just purchased a white cowhide rug for my apartment and it’s absolute perfection! I adore how mixing a neutral, natural element in a room can immediately make it warmer and more interesting. Gorgeous pic choices, HC!
Fantastic post! My favourite kind of design, and very inspiring. Thanks!

Who knew a zebra or black and white rug was a pre-requisite for designing a neutral room!? I can see why–it’s a perfect counterpoint…
Heather Clawson is an outstanding editor/curator! What a superb selection of interior details that cohere aesthetically yet each remains so distinct. Many thanks.
This is one of my favourite posts. Love, love, love all of these interiors! I agree wholeheartedly with comment above by CD. Well said!
Thank you, Heather!

I love this post. taking the inspiration for the interiors from an outfit is wonderful and exciting !
I love that the rooms at once are both elegant and earthy… a lovely balance !
thanks, Heather !
I could incorporate something from each room into my house. They’re all unique and interesting. If I were in one of these rooms I’d have to touch the merchandise. Jo @ Let’s Face the Music
I try , really try to go all neutral and then I just throw in an apple green velvet pillow or fushia flowers or a burnt orange bangle bracelet. Can’t help it. No control. 🙂
Monochromatic rooms are so peaceful and elegant.
