Autumn Inspiration
by habituallychic
09 . 07 . 11The weather in New York has turned from summer to autumn overnight. Unfortunately, it’s not the sunny and warm autumn that I was dreaming about but a cold and damp one. I hope it clears up soon so I can wear all my new clothes without covering them up with a trench. It’s definitely making it difficult to plan outfits for fashion week. I’m also thinking about any changes I can make to my new apartment to prepare for the change of season. If you’re in need of wardrobe or home inspiration for autumn, hopefully this post will give you some ideas.
Photos: Many of the design photos were found on tumblr without credits or The Life of Polarn Per. Most of the fashion street images are by Tommy Ton. The rest are unknown.

Wow, an instant favourite of your posts. LOVE just about everything here! The colours, textures of the clothes and the spaces here are wonderful. Yep, Autumn is a luxurious season.
what a beautiful selection of photos – I don’t know how you find them!!
I just love the fur-collared camel coat. I love autumn (even though it’s still technically summer). It’s freezing here in Montreal as well.
Really fantastic post.

The last picture is from the Parisian apartment of the French Textile Designer Dominique Kieffer. I love the use of muted tones textile mixed with the natural elements of the floor and plants. The overall effect looks very relaxing and sophisticated.
As Charlie Brown might say, *sigh*. What a satisfying early fall inspiration post. And thanks to your heads up yesterday, I was able to alert some incoming visitors to the upcoming de Kooning exhibit. Thank you! Always a pleasure to drop by.
The first image is the epitome of fall chic!
So inspiring!
Love all the camel and fur! Reminds me that I have to get out my grandmother’s camel fox-collared coat soon! 🙂
i don’t really mind the cool, dreary entrance fall has made…but yes, it will be nice to be able to show off all our new duds! LOVE all the pics you posted-definitely inspiring.

Love what you’ve done with this post! I have many words tumbling in my brain right now: Fun, furry, spicy, leather, incense, firewood, autumnal, cozy, classy, elegant, etc…. Fall is my favorite time of the year and you’ve captured it! I live in Palm Springs and it was 110 degrees today, so I can only dream about cooler temperatures and warm clothing.
Well done!
Hi!!

I am in LOVE with this posting. AS always a timely evocative post with glorious visuals.
I’m off to Paris in the morning to blog about Maison et Objet and am now in a wild panic after your post- that I will not be CHIC enough or Autumn appropriate ( to be fair it’s 26 degrees C there today). Will have to shop with your looks in mind

A beautifully curated collection of images. Thank you for your endless inspiration!
I’m inspired!! But what really has my heart pumping is the gorgeous French (?) iron railing. Unfortunately, it is blazing hot here in Southern California (over 100*); not very autumn like.
Love the autumm colors. Very inspirational post!

can’t wait for fall in Florida!
The close up of the window with the wrought iron balcony is of a house in Savannah, Georgia’s historic district. I live not far from it. If you want to see the rest of the house there are some here:

Does anyone happen to know who makes the brown/burgundy heels in the approximate 10th picture down?

This might be one of my favorites of your posts!
The combo of interiors that are classical and then the modern touches. The layers and textures in the clothing are perfection and so chic. This makes me SO excited for fall. Now I can’t wait!
