Calvin’s Chic Miami Retreat
by habituallychic
07 . 05 . 11I remember seeing Calvin Klein’s house in Miami Beach years ago in Vanity Fair and was excited to find the photos again recently. It’s an example of a house that is not my design style but for some reason I just love it. The interiors make it look like it would be cool and breezy despite the hot and humid climate of Miami. The article by Ingrid Sischy that accompanied the photos is online and definitely worth reading too. Enjoy!

I mostly like this, and I can see why you posted it; I too had seen it years ago and remembered it. But now I’m less convinced. Almost all of the ingredients are to my liking except the dining chairs; I love the all white and the simplicity. But the loggia is uncomfortably shallow and the wall is skimpy. The bamboo wood just off the dining area must be unpleasantly dusty and even a bit bleak. interesting that Bruce Weber did the photos; he has a house there himself so they could be neighbors.
I love the organic feel of this home-beautiful!
Although I have tired of the pictures-on-the-floor-leaning-against-the-wall decorating, it is absolutely sublime otherwise.
Oh my… That is just lovely! I’ve lived in Florida and mostly I remember the humidity and heat but that seems so… cool!
It’s a wonderful house… casual but sophisticated.
Get invited and lets go!!!!!
Ah, the minimalist’s Vatican….
What a relaxing feel. I love it too.
I’m doing a giveaway on my blog. The rug from my Showhouse room, an 8′ round wool Flokati!
