Chic in Barcelona

I always think it’s sweet when my readers send me links to something they think I would like.  They are usually correct and I have to thank Pablo for alerting me to this great apartment.  It was designed by Ana Ros and although it looks French, is actually located in Barcelona. If you speak Spanish, you can read more details about it online at Nuevo Estilo.  I absolutely love the turquoise commodes that flank the fireplace but would probably switch out the contemporary sofa if it were my home.  But I wouldn’t change a thing about that terrace.  Enjoy!

I absolutely love interiors like this one where the architecture of the space plays such a large part in the design experience. And I love how in this case its all white, but still manages to steal the show!

Love the bathroom! I always find it fascinating how these old European buildings get transformed to accommodate modern conveniences, and bathrooms are always interesting; in this case it’s obviously a real room for a bath: a large space that’s been furnished and filled in with fixtures, rather than the usual built-ins and compartments one would see in a new building. I’m always going back to that idea in my own work. thank you for sharing it.

Looks amazing… the Spaniards have great taste. They make decorating not stuffy but lived in and “collected.” I always try to pick up an issue of AD Spain, my fav design magazine…

This post immediately reminded me of some of Carlos Mota’s work- he’s a stylist and International Style Editor for Architectural Digest. Check out this article about him on Theodora & Callum’s blog, it’s definitely a fun read: http://www.theodoraandcallum.com/blog/cat/creative-factory/post/my-faves-carlos-mota/
