Parisian Chic
by habituallychic
03 . 13 . 11Speaking of Paris, I wish I had Parisian Chic before my last trip to Paris. Ines de la Fressange’s guide to style and the city of lights is packed full of insider tips on what to wear, where to shop, places to eat, and hotels in which to stay. I was a little disappointed to find that the book does not contain the side by side photos of Inez and her daughter Nine d’Urso. They were published in French Elle and are très chic! I’ve included them for you. Enjoy!

So stylish, great to see the mother and daughter shots! Nicolex
Looks like a must have whether you are travelling to Paris or not, just a great style bible really. Thanks for sharing pics form the original version :))
Wish you a great Monday
Very Chic – and conservative enough to still be relevant here in Vienna. Just goes to show that true classics are relevant for any age if you style them correctly. Must pick up own copy!
I love this post! Classics never goes out of fashion.
Looks like great book. Love Paris.

What a shame! This was on my must-buy list but without the photos of her daughter.. what a disappointment. Thanks for sharing!
xx Cristina
I just have to go to Amazon.fr and order it! I’m not sure that I can ever get that thin again…
Ah,yes…the navy sweater. Love it!
Like mother… like daughter… xx meenal
First, thank you for sharing this book. It’s been added to my to-do list (to buy) for this week!
I’m off to find this book in preparation for my trip to Paris in June. Thanks for sharing!

What a fabulous book! Thank you so much for sharing such a great find! Now, if only you could make my legs grow about 5 more inches….
They are so beautiful! Am I the only one who wants to give those ladies a meal?
Thank you for including the French version’s images. Ines’ daughter is beautiful. I love the simplicity of this style. Also its timelessness.
This lovely guide will come in very handy for my trip to Paris in June (popular month to travel to Paris, mais non?). I LOVE Parisian style. There’s nothing better than being comfortable while looking chic!!
They are both gorgeous (and tall!!) Thanks, Mary
Ooh, I love this! I think I’ll call the LBD “la mini noire” from now on.
This so timely for my trip to Paris and Italy in June! Perfect.
And did I see hotel recommendations there too? Yay!
Very chic indeed!
This is great! I emailed this post to my Aunt who is currently in Paris. Here is her response..
Thank you soooooo much for this! I have been hunting all over for a boat neck navy and white stripped shirt, and although I’ve seen several, they all seem to have something stupid attached to them, like a red embroidered anchor, or some dumb silver buttons on the sleeve. I am hoping to find a really nice, plain one. Have a little more time left, so wish me luck.
YOU HAVE GOT TO COME HERE! My eyes are about to pop out. People don’t necessarily look as chic as the women below, but one or two do. I met a couple of women about 3 hours ago at a restaurant. They had big bags filled with Chanel, Valentino, and my favorite chocolate, from La Maison Du Chocolate, (which I plan to go to tomorrow, and probably spend all of the money that I have). They were so sweet, and actually offered me a piece. I tried to say no, but thank goodness they insisted. Then, they gave me a box before they left. Wasn’t that just the sweetest thing? These women were from the US.
I want the apartment in the photos below also. I really want to go to a flea market, but am afraid I’ll find something, and then what. Buying, shipping, don’t think I can handle all of that. The only thing that I’ve bought thus far, is in my stomach, or about to go into my stomach. I don’t know how the people here stay so slim, with all of the bread that they eat. The “Evil Empire Starbucks” is here, but you don’t see people walking around with coffee cups, they walk around tearing pieces off of baguettes. They stop for coffee at coffee bars, and stand at the counter, (it cost’s extra to sit), and down cafe all day long.
Thanks for sending this. I love looking at these photos, and maybe, will pop into a bookstore to see if I can find it.
Thank you again. Love you much, and maybe the next time I come to France, if I ever do, YOU should be my travel companion. We’d have a great time, sitting outside the cafe’s, looking, critiquing, and just laughing at people.
– Thought This was funny – My Aunt is very chic- quite the character.

Maegan – that is hands down the best thing I’ver ever read1 You have to go with her next time! Thanks!
I must go out and get Ines’ book. I have always loved her look. The only problem is, my hips are fifty million times bigger than hers!!! Quite seriously look at them – there is nothing there!
Just to tell you that the English version is exactly the same as the French one,the photos with Inès and Nine were only shot for French ELLE magazine…
I love your blog, thank you so much for sharing 🙂

I am reading the book right now and am loving her tips and advice on fashion. It makes me feel more comfortable in my own skin and to break rules and trends and make it my own.
