J.Crew Fall 2011 Preview
by habituallychic
03 . 30 . 11As I was walking up to Industria Studios yesterday afternoon for the J.Crew Fall 2011 preview, I saw Vogue editor Filipa Fina leaving. She was wearing bright plum colored cropped pants. Not sure if this was planned or a coincidence but it was definitely a harbinger of what was to come inside as viewed by the first looks above. Obviously, I am already a fan of J.Crew but I have to say that I really loved the fall 2011 women’s collection. The saturated colors like orange and fuchsia are gorgeous and will look great mixed with pieces in grey and camel that you might already own. Women’s designer Marissa Webb treated her team to movie night where they were inspired by Bonnie and Clyde and The Great Gatsby. The result is a mix of ladylike femininity and confident tailoring with a little whimsy thrown in for good measure. I think my favorite for fall is all the resin jewelry that I definitely wanted to steal off the models. Men’s designer Frank Muytjens was inspired by photographer Lewis Hine and his photos of construction workers building the Empire State Building in the 1930’s. The silhouettes were slimmed for the modern man and are sure to be a hit this fall. Actually, it’s too bad that we have to wait until fall for these fashions since the weather is perfect for these looks!
I think J.Crew needs to hire Travis Gumbs and Joshua Kissi of Street Etiquette as models next season. They were some of the most dapper men I’ve ever seen!
Marissa Webb and Jenna Lyons also make perfect J.Crew models. Love those orange pants!

Love the bags most of all! I’m definitely going to have to get that cropped quilted jacket (since mine was stolen -ugh).
How cool to get to go to this event! So far I am liking what I see from what’s to come at J.Crew!
J.Crew does it again! 🙂
Love your blog.

J.Crew is coming to Canada this year, long over-due. I’m actually surprised from your pics of how urban and on-trend their clothes are this season.
I love J.CREW!!!

J.Crew consistently nails what the trends are—love these looks, and I love that color is making a chic resurgence. Great post.
Thank You for the preview..
Pink and tweed, color me in love!
Amazing clothes, as usual. Can’t wait!
Is it just me, or do the women seem VERY skinny this season? The girl in the green pants is frighteningly thin. The men all look great, but the women….anorexic? Sad.
Very Marni-meets-Chloe, which is a great thing, even if is sounds like an odd combo.
Love this collection.
Ooo the rust wide-legged pants with the self belt and that floor-length casual skirt….LOVE!
Masion Lux I could not agree more. Painfully thin models. The clothing looks terrible on these emaciated girls.
This just made my week! I’m in love with J.Crew and everything they flawlessness of everything they do. Thank you so much for sharing!
Heather,
thanks for sharing…now all I can think about is fall 11, after such a brutal winter in NYC.

Thanks for sharing
Heather – so great of you to share these exciting images. Feels like we were there with you! So many yummy pieces to admire and yearn for.
Oh my yumminess. I love it all especially the pops of bright color and cheetah. You are a lucky lady to be able to attend such a fab event.
LOVE the pink pants look in the middle- pic #1. Fab!
Great pieces!
And I’m loving my vintage, gray-green trench I just snagged even more now that I see JC’s green trench. Yeah!
I’ll buy every look. You think I’m joking…
J Crew is the reason I’m broke. I’m officially going in debt over their clothes… and it looks like the penchant to spend won’t stop any time soon… Dying for those leopard flats and bright pants!
Love the article and blog!
