Under the Tuscan Sun
by habituallychic
01 . 07 . 11Big flakes of snow are coming down in New York but it’s not getting me down because I’m dreaming of Italy. When I first saw Castello di Vicarello in Vogue, I couldn’t wait to check out their website for more photos. It’s even more gorgeous than I thought but also made me disappointed that I didn’t win the lottery this week. I would have bought this place and never looked back. Luckily, it’s a hotel and spa so at least I can still book a room. Bon Weekend!

Yes, Heather! I’m going with you… let’s all dream… Italy?! How can you say “no” to paradise?
I’ve never been to Italy and I dream with that place! My grandfather was born in Italy and I grew up hearing amazing stories about that magical country, the culture, the food.. oh, the food! Really… how lucky are they???
Have a great weekend.. maybe eating some pasta!

ooohhh, love those (cypress?) trees, so striking! I want to go too!
I am so there! There must be something in the air because all I am doing lately is daydreaming about either
A. jetting off to a remote Tuscan village, claiming an abandoned farmhouse and restoring it (naturally with ripe fertile olive trees in the backyard just ready to be made into a major olive farm) by which I will then become famous for my olive oil 🙂
B. Go to the hills or should I say mountains of West Virginia settle down on 100 acres, build the coziest cabin, start a working farm and garden and have my own little buisness selling homemade desserts, cheeses, etc….it would be gourmet of course and naturally the entire world would have to try it!
Must be in the snow in NY thats getting to me..great post. Thanks for “taking me away” albeit for a few moments!

So lovely! I could totally retire right now. The headboard in the bedroom is quite fabulous, too.

My heart & soul live in Italy, & the rest of me wishes to go as well. Beautiful post, Heather. Happy New Year’s 1st week. xx’s
One word – HEAVEN!
Thank you for doing the research…and then sharing it with us. All of the pictures are so pretty. Have a nice weekend…K
As an Italian …Tuscany is just a small part of Italy and I don’t understand the obsession of American tourists for only one of 20 (twenty) regions, all beautifully different!
Buon 2011.
Now I’m dreaming too. No snow here but I’d rather be in Italy any day. Happy, Happy New Year. Hope you are well.
Beautiful! Can’t you just see why all Italians are born with such good taste!
Absolutely gorgeous. But I do not think that I would sleep too well under that ox (?) skull. Mary
che bella the land were dreams come true
Lovely… Dreamy… I drove all over the hills of Tuscany last summer; it seems there was an adventure around every corner, (or hairpin curve). A particularly fun memory was trying to find the house where Stealing Beauty was filmed. Our little hamlet was just a couple miles away. Why am I not there right now?
Saw this article too! It made me want to travel to Italy a la Eat Pray Love and do yoga! Thanks for posting additional photos 🙂
