Autumn Interior Inspiration

by habituallychic

At this time of year, not only do I think of changing out my closet for fall but also my home.  I switch out my lighter summer pillows for heavier wool pillows from Judy Ross.  I sometimes also change the color of the cashmere throw on my sofa.  From the look of these autumnal inspired interiors, I might have to splurge on an Hermes blanket soon.  Since I happen to love orange, autumn will always be my favorite season and not just for the fall fashions.  Enjoy!

I really love these “round up” posts, much like the one on desks and home offices. You really do them well and offer the readers great ideas! Preston

I, too, really love these. I need to inject some warmth via colour and texture into my space as we transition to the cooler months as well….

After holding out for a couple of years, we finally bit the bullet and got the blanket – and a matching pillow for good measure. Go for it – you’ll have it for a lifetime!

I still love Garrow Kedigian’s room at Kips Bay! The wine cellar is awesome too. I should have just done the whole basement here like that!

What a great collection of orange! I like orange but in the fall I love it everywhere. That last photo is Suzanne Kasler and I Love that room. Thanks

I love, love this post! It makes me so excited to be in the “thick” of fall!

I just did a post about using orange in honor of fall!

Hi Heather! I enjoy your posts so much. I’ve been following you for a long time now and I think they’ve gotten better and better. Just wanted to let you know you were a huge part in the inspiration for starting my own blog, Confessions of a Designer. I’m an interior designer as well, from Dominican Republic. I hope you can stop by and see my little space in the blogosphere, thanks in part to your awesome work. God bless!

I love your blog too! And this round-up is terrific. You have a wonderful eye. If I may trouble you, can you identify the rug in Robert Burke’s apartment by Todd Romano? I see it everywhere. Thanks for the inspiration and your blog!

I do the same but I can’t pull out the fur throw yet…still too hot! So ready for a cool breeze. Hoping you have one!

We were certainly on the same page! I just posted about the Avalon Blanket and the delights of the upcoming season.

You just confirmed my thoughts exactly!

Hi, great post! Question for you…llove the teak/woven lounge chair in the first photo. Any idea of a source? Thanks, EAM

I too love Autumn. Your photo collection is beautiful; the interiors set such a warm, glowing tone.

When I was a newlywed 20 years ago, my apartment was furnished with hand-me-downs salvaged from my in-laws’ basement. I hated those 1970’s burnt orange velvet side chairs we were given back in the 90’s and couldn’t wait to replace them. But NOW I’m so wishing I could possess them again! They’re suddenly so stylish!

I am always happy while anticipating Fall. The Hermes blankets seem to warm up every room they venture into. Kelly Wearster’s bedroom is fantastic, but I don’t think that I could sleep with the very pointy and dangerous-looking sculpture hanging over my bed. Thanks for the great images. Mary

I used to dislike orange as an accent color in decorating but I think your pictures here make a good argument for why I should revise my opinion! Orange looks so good on the trees in the fall, why not in your house, too, as long as it’s done right!

Also, I am in love with the chair in the foreground of the Bunny Williams room…so elegant.

    I loved this post.
Oh, Fall! Look at these colors, they make my heart feel at home.
    Love your blog!
