Living in LA
by habituallychic
03 . 18 . 10Since I’m off to LaLa Land, I thought I’d take this time to post some great Los Angeles homes. This one belongs to the chic married couple Michael Govan and Katherine Ross and family. He’s the Director of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and she has worked in public relations for LVMH. Not sure if she’s still with them but regardless, this is one fashionable family! When they moved to LA, they wanted a Richard Neutra house but has clearly made due with this lovely home filled with their art collection as well as pieces borrowed from the museum. When I think of California design, I often think of mid-century modern furniture and I love all the bright colors they used for their pieces. It’s a pop art paradise! Enjoy!

Love that fantastic little dining nook! I can imagine having breakfast en famille on lazy weekends, savouring coffee and perusing the newspapers while the children tackle art ‘projects’:)
That cloud carpet in the little girl’s room is crazy!!! I love it simply because I know if I were her age I would think it the most fantastic thing on earth. Thanks for sharing such a fun home. XO Katie
love the pops of color…and I too, remember loving anything with big puffy clouds as a kid…I wanted my ceiling to be painted like the clouds….Love it.
Love it! The contemporary style and colors are perfect. The art is divine!!

I love the house and the pops of color. But I think they need rugs. It’s too sterile and industrial with the stark floors…doesn’t feel home-y at all like that.
Love the staircase and floors!
Isn’t it such an easy going style? That look can be achieved at a very affordable price as well. Not so fussy and out of reach for the averge Jo
Do you have time to meet me and blogger Deja Pseu in Culver City on Wednesday? We are having lunch at a lovely French bistro. We would love to meet you! you can find her link via my blog and then contact one of us if you can make it! Karen Karlsen
I love the lightness and brightness of this home…A chance for some exciting eclecticism…
