Whitney Biennial
by habituallychic
02 . 27 . 10The New York weather has left something to be desired lately and I can’t think of any better place to escape to than a museum. I’ll admit that sometimes contemporary art leaves me scratching my head but getting out of your comfort zone and the comfort of your own home can be inspiring so I think I am going to check out the Whitney Biennial this weekend. The show runs through May 30, 2010 and only happens every two years so if you miss it now, you’ll have to wait a while until you can see it again. Bon Weekend!

Wish I could be there! 5 pieces were framed by Katayama Framing here in Portland OR…an absolutely wonderful owner and shop!
I could not agree with you more, there is something about modern art,…makes you think! Even if you do not get it; it tends to “stick” in the mind, exposure is a key ingredient in life.

wish I could see it. good luck braving all the snow! enjoy the weekend Heather.
oh that’s great. always love the look, hypnotic seduction of smoke. very cool art. walking with you on the museum tip.
As the partner of an artist I have come to learn to love contemporary art, which I must confess I sometimes find ever so slightly intimidating…I wonder if they do that on purpose?! The National Gallery of Australia in Canberra where I live is currently hosting masterpieces from the Musee d’Orsay..I’ll be off to visit soon if the crowds ever die down (which I seriously doubt!) Love your blog.
I would love to be there, more than you know Heather!! Adore the art you featured, isn’t it ethereal?
