The Herrera Home

Of course, Carolina Herrera’s home looks just as chic as the designer herself. I just wish there were photos of it online! I did find some good ones on The Peak of Chic that came from a Dutch design magazine but it doesn’t seem like it has been published in an American magazine in quite a few years. I scanned in some of the photos that were included in the book Carolina Herrera: Portrait of a Fashion Icon from Assouline but I think it’s time for François Halard to work his magic and photograph the Herrera townhouse top to bottom! I’ll even volunteer to assist him!

I can imagine one feels as if they’ve stepped into another time upon arrival at Mrs. Herrera’s home. And yet, there is a timelessness to it that gives it a comfortable, non-museum feel.

Her home was featured back in the day in the old house and garden magazine – don’t you miss it! I think I have it in my files -i’ll scan it and email it to you!

This is beautiful. I love the toile in the gown contrasting the bedroom toile. Carolina Herrera obviously has a sense of humour.

Wonderful post. When I think of classy women, she immediately comes to mind. Her poise and sense of confidence is so very appealing.

Great post! She is the epitome of style and grace and her home reflects this. I remember seeing her home in House Beautiful or House and Garden some time way back in the 90’s, and I saved it for a long while. Wish I still had it.

One of those homes I always had curiosity about…
I find it a bit Velasquezian for my taste, but you’re right – as Elegant as the Owner… and timeless.
    Thank you for sharing!

It looks so rich. By rich I don’t mean ‘money’, I mean full or plush or luxurious. Very much suits her clothing.

Just the kind of home I would imagine her living in.

I think it was published in a North American publication awhile back because I remember that photo of her daughter in the toile room (what a great photo and dress!), but I can’t really recall.

I wish Carolina’s perfect taste would filter down to the American decorative arts buyer—my job would become so much easier. I love her use of red and the positive energy created. Thanks for these great posts.
