Hamptons Hideaway

A Fashionable Life is my favorite feature in Harper’s Bazaar but since they are a fashion magazine and not a shelter magazine, the actual home photos tend to be a little on the small side. They also don’t publish all the rooms or show enough details to satisfy my curiosity. One home that I hope to see published again is the Hamptons home of Tim and Helen Lee Schifter. For a couple that gets dressed up a lot for events, I was pleasantly surprised at it’s simplicity and quiet elegance. I really wish there was a better photo of the living room online because I bet it’s even more fabulous than what little glimpse was shown in Bazaar! I am also now dying to see inside their New York apartment! Hint hint!

I second this! I want to see more! Just look at the blue and white china in the kitchen cabinets…and the topiary…and…what’s not to love? Why must Harpers tease us so???

I absolutely agree! I would love to see more pictures of this home. I am most intrigued by their collection of art and accessories.

That is my favorite feature in Harpers Bazaar as well! I really loved Celerie Kemble’s apartment which was featured in a December issue either in 2008 or 2009. I can’t seem to find photos of it anywhere online, though.

A beautifully understated interior. Looks perfect to me. I do want to see the closets now.

    It’s very, um, safe.

so interesting that their home is so staid when they dress up so much, but it actually makes perfect sense, i suppose.

it must be quite a haven for them, and i love that idea of a home being a place you don’t have to be dressed or be the most presentable version of yourself, just yourself.

Do you suppose the kitchen countertops are marble or limestone?
